Apex calls itself “The Peak of Good Living,” and the weather is a big part of that. Mild winters and long warm seasons mean you can replace windows or siding almost any time of year.
But is there a best time? It depends on what matters most to you: comfort, scheduling, or price.

Season by Season
| Season | Pros | Cons |
|---|---|---|
| Spring | Mild temperatures. Open windows feel great during the work. | Very busy season. Heavy pine pollen. |
| Summer | Long days. You will feel the benefit of new glass right away. | Hot install days. Afternoon storms can shift the schedule. |
| Fall | Comfortable weather. New windows ready before winter. | Also a busy season. Book early. |
| Winter | Easier scheduling. Openings are only uncovered briefly. | Cold mornings. Some caulks need warmer days. |
Can You Replace Windows in Winter?
Yes. We work year-round. We replace one window at a time, so each opening is only uncovered for a short while. On a mild Apex winter day, you will barely notice.
Winter can also be easier to schedule, since spring and fall fill up fast.
What About Siding?
Vinyl siding installs well in most weather. On very cold days, the panels get stiffer and need more careful handling. On very hot days, installers leave the right gaps so the panels can expand and contract.
The biggest thing to avoid is stretching a siding job across a long rainy stretch, since the wall underneath is open during tear-off. We plan around the forecast. Learn more on our siding replacement page.

How to Plan Around Lead Times
Every window we install is custom made. Most jobs start 3 to 4 weeks after you book. So if you want new windows before a certain season, work backward:
- Get your estimate 5 to 6 weeks before you want the work done.
- Approve your proposal so we can order.
- Get HOA approval at the same time, if your neighborhood needs it.
- Schedule the install once the windows arrive.
Want new windows before summer heat? Start the process in March. Want them before winter? Start in September.
The Real Answer: When Your Windows Tell You
The best time is usually before a small problem turns into a big one. Fogged glass, soft sills, and drafts only get worse. Read our guide to how long windows last to see if yours are due.
